Colossal Boy was training on Mars when he gained his power; in the post-"Zero Hour" continuity,Saturn Girl met Legion co-foundersGarth Ranzz and Rokk Krinn while traveling fromTitan to Earth to begin training at the Science Police headquarters inMetropolis .Other Legionnaires have joined the Science Police when they were no longer able to serve in the Legion, most notably the depowered Dyrk Magz and
Kinetix following the disbanding of the Legion in the post-"Zero Hour" run of the series.Legion Liaison
Shvaughn Erin , while nonpowered, has played a large role on the team in the original and post-"Zero Hour" continuities, to the point that she has sometimes been referred to as "Liaison Lass."At the beginning of the "Threeboot" Legion continuity, relations between the Science Police and the Legion were antagonistic, though things have cooled a bit since the Legion was officially recognized by the United Planets.
In Silver Age continuity, the police force of
Superman 's home planet Krypton was also called the Science Police. The Science Police continued to patrol the bottle city ofKandor after Krypton was destroyed.Recently in "52", Metropolis PD has established a Science Police division.
In "Superman" # 677, the Science Police concept as been adopted by the federal government of the United States, with divisions established in
Metropolis andMidway City .What makes the Science Police different from regular police has yet to be established.
In other media
The Science Police have appeared in the "Legion of Super Heroes" animated series. They are shown to consider the Legion as "freaks", and resent their interference in police business.
