John McDonald (cricketer)

John McDonald (cricketer)

John McDonald (May 29, 1882 — June 4, 1961) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire. A right-handed batsman, he was born in Belper and died in Brownhill.

McDonald made his debut for the team during the 1905 County Championship, playing against Nottinghamshire. McDonald scored a career-high score of 21 runs in his debut first-class innings, however, the team slipped to a defeat.

McDonald played two further first-class matches for Derbyshire during the 1906 season, though he scored a pair in his final match, and was not picked again for the side, as Derbyshrie finished bottom of the 1906 County Championship table.
