He has written two books as well as technology articles in the specialist press (e.g., in "Boardwatch Magazine ") on the topic of theInternet . His first book, "Zen and the Art of the Internet: A Beginner's Guide" was the first mass-published user's guide to the Internet.On
December 31 ,1993 , he and a friend,Sven Heinicke , were involved in a serious car accident that left Brendan withbrain injuries includingaphasia . He has since made a full recovery.He was married on
