Sophie Benzing

Sophie Benzing became a regular news presenter on BBC Radio 5 Live in the autumn of 2000 and was live on-air when news broke of the September 11, 2001 attacks in the US. Sophie also gained extensive TV presentation skills during work at Sky News, News 24 and BBC Look East. To complement her presenting skills, Sophie has gained a valuable understanding and insight into the demands and requirements of programme making and content, having worked as a producer at Sky News in 1999.

She is currently the presenter on BBC Radio Five Live: The Weekend News, Drivetime, Sport on Five, The Weekend Breakfast Programme and Newsreader on Breakfast and Simon Mayo's show.

In 1996 Sophie obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism at University College Falmouth Cornwall.
