Jack Donohue Public School is a Canadian elementary and middle school located in Kanata, Ontario in the neighbourhood of Morgan's Grant. It is named after Jack Donohue, coach of the Canadian national men's basketball team for seventeen years, well known for teaching his team to believe in its dreams.

Music

Mrs. Hawley conducted the junior and senior bands, and a combined senior and junior choir. In 2006-2007 school year, Mrs. Hawley also started many bands and clubs including jazz, guitar, junior and senior, although this year there is no guitar club. Mrs. Hawley enjoys music and plays in the National Arts Centre in downtown Ottawa. In the middle of the school year, she was replaced by Ms. Thomson, who has the same level and ability in music and teaching as Mrs. Hawley. She intends to continue all of the bands in the first half of the year, as well as maybe even adding new ones, Shanna Thomson exceeded her expectations by adding Drama Club, Intermediate Choir and Jazz ensemble to the list of Clubs.

Recently the 07-08 Intermediate Choir at Jack Donohue P.S. (which consisted of grades 7-8) Sang Oh Canada at Ottawa's City Hall.

Sports

The school has boys and girls teams in soccer, Canadian football, volleyball, bordenball, track and field, and basketball.

The school has not yet won a title, but has come close on a number of occasions in soccer and basketball. Mr. Boucher is the gym teacher, and coach of most sports teams, and is also an international track-and-field competitor who recently visited Italy for a senior event.
