Quebec . It is strongly in favour of Canadian unity and opposesQuebec nationalism andsovereignty . Aside from the party's federalist agenda, its stated mission is to "actively pursue the full rights and interests of staunch Canadians living in the Province of Quebec." It opposes Quebec's language laws, states that "strong action is needed" to strengthen Quebec's economy, and claims to support "environmentally-friendly" policies. Its leader, Allen E. Nutik, has described Affiliation Quebec as: "A NEW political party to refocus the agenda! We don't want to be LIED TO, nor undervalued again."
Affiliation Quebec was founded by a group of primarily Western Montreal anglophones. The party will succeed the defunct
Alliance Quebec , Nutik predicted. It aims to build on voter disappointment with theQuebec Liberal Party and theAction démocratique du Québec , which Nutik said don't offer any particular consideration to minorities. In May 2007, he announced his intention to run as a candidate for the next election of the
National Assembly of Quebec , and has since announced his intention that the party will run candidates in six or seven of the assembly's 125 ridings. On
April 20 ,2008 , theChief Electoral Officer of Quebec certified the group as an official party, making it eligible to run candidates in elections.External References
