He served as a Representative andSenator from theLas Villas Province and also as the CubanAmbassador toPanama ,Peru ,Netherlands ,Belgium andLuxemburg . He was a delegate to the Constitutional Convention of 1940. He also served as the Cuban Representative to theUnited Nations and as Minister of Labor.Family
He was the son of General
Emilio Núñez Rodriguez , a Vice President of Cuba, Governor of Havana and Minister of Agriculture; and the brother of the 1948 Cuban Presidential candidate, Dr. Ricardo Núñez. He was married three times and had five children,Emilio Núñez Blanco , Ricardo Núñez Garcia, Maria Stana Núñez Garcia, Dolores Brunilda Núñez Fábrega and Fernando Núñez Fábrega. His son,Emilio Núñez Blanco , was the second husband ofMirta Diaz-Balart (the first wife ofFidel Castro ).He is buried in Panama next to his third wife, Panamanian Olga Fábrega Fábrega.References
