Mr. Simms

Mr. Simms

Mr. Simms (played by Clarence Williams III) is one out of the four main characters from the 1995 horror film Tales from the Hood. In most of the movie he is a "funeral director" who tells strange stories to Ball, Stack, and Bulldog, the drug dealers who come to the mortuary to claim drugs that Mr. Simms stashed there for them. He tells four stories from his previous clients, who are more interesting than the trio themselves. The first one is called "Rouge Cop Revelation", the second one is called "Boys Do Get Bruised", the third one is "KKK Comeuppance", and the last one is called "Hard Core Convert" (which involves Ball, Stack, and Bulldog as the murderers of Crazy K, the main character of the story).

After Mr. Simms is done telling his stories to the trio, they pull out their guns and threaten to kill him if he doesn't explain how he knows of what they did. He leads them deep into the funeral home for them to find that they are dead and their corpses are inside the coffins which Mr. Simms told them the drugs were in. Mr. Simms eyes flash red and the guns of the drug dealers burn, forcing the dealers to drop them. Simms then proceeds to explain that the three were killed by Crazy K's "boys" after learning they killed him. Mr. Simms is not who they thought he was and says to them "This ain't no funeral home!" (replying to Bulldog saying "If we dead then what the fuck we doing in a funeral home with your crazy ass, huh?!") Mr. Simms exclaims his infamous line "Welcome to Hell, motherfuckers!" and transforms into Satan. The drug dealers are terrified at the sight of him, as the walls of the funeral home glamor shatter to reveal the fiery reality of where they had been all along: Hell. Satan burns them in agony and laughs evily.
