Edward Lee Stevens (born January 12 1925 in Galveston, Texas), nicknamed "Big Ed," is a former first baseman in Major League Baseball. He played from 1945-1950 with the Brooklyn Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates. He was known as the player who lost his starting job with the Dodgers to Jackie Robinson [http://www.californiahistorian.com/articles/baseball-spider.html] .

He was a coach for the San Diego Padres in 1981.
