Marketing Fair

Marketing Fair

The Marketing Fair also known as the PUZZLE, is an annual marketing event that happens at the IILM], Gurgaon, India. The Marketing Fair, originally conceived and started in 1979 by Dr. Sharad Sarin of XLRI Jamshedpur, India has been replicated here by Mr. Jones Mathew along with his colleagues. The fair is a research tool that creates a "mela" (fair) around serious market research. The fundamental idea is to do market research but under the guise of games. By putting people in the midst of games, it strategically strives to get responses that are unbiased. Entertained by games, responders most often never realize they are answering questions or revealing their preferences by making choices while playing. This idea got the corporates excited and a few wanted to experiment with their primary data collection method. Carnation, Creambell, Club Mahindra, Zara Aviation were the major participating companies among others.

"Platform like these help students like us to work on live research and get a hang of real market situation, during our MBA and before we move out to work, and corporates to get a cost-effective and quality research. So its a win win situation for both the companies and the students" Aakanksha Verma, president of the marketing club was quoted saying that. The Event was organized by BrandRovers, the marketing club of IILM.

"This Marketing fair will return in 2011 at a bigger and better level. We haven't taken a call on the dates yet, but that's to be decided pretty soon" Abhishek Kumar, president, Brandrovers.
