]Rew Down is a
Local Nature Reserve (LNR) located on the south east edge of theIsle of Wight in the hills to the west ofVentnor .The area is a chalk grassland sloping to the south and offering panaramic and far reaching views of the
English Channel . It has theStenbury Trail running along its western boundary and theVentnor golf club to the North.It is managed by the Isle of Wight Council and is noted for its
Highland cattle which have grazed the land since 2003.The area is also a 23.5 hectare biological
Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). It was notified in 1977.External links
