Lee McKenzie (born
December 1 ,1977 inAyr ,Scotland ) is a presenter forSky Sports andSky Sports News . She is the daughter ofBob McKenzie , the well known Sports and motorsport journalist.Working mainly in motor sport and rugby, she has presented for
ITV and also launched the Horse Racing channelAt the Races . Lee has also presentedLookaround forBorder Television , and covered many high profile stories including the Lockerbie Trial. Lee has been a journalist since she was 15 years old. In 2007 Lee won the Jim Clark Memorial Award for contributions to motorsport. She competed in several rounds of theWorld Rally Championship in 2004 and the Norwegian Mountain rally in 2005.She has hosted several programmes and is about to embark on a third year of presenting Sky Sports
A1 Grand Prix coverage as well as the world feed coverage.A lifelong motor sports and “any sports” fan, Lee has presented several programmes on ITV,
Channel 4 as well as Sky Sports, including the ‘live’ Sunday afternoon show Speed Sunday and the British Super Bike Championship.She competes as an international co-driver in the World Rally Championship. She started after a challenge by ITV to train and become a world rally championship co-driver in just 3 months and saw her qualifying for an International licence, right through until she won her class at Wales Rally GB. Since then she has competed in the Norwegian Rally Championship, arguably the toughest national championship in the world, for the X-Power MG ZR .
Last year Lee travelled over 150,000 miles five times round the world covering both F1 and A1GP.
She has covered most major sports events in her time from the
Rugby World Cup to Wimbledon and the Derby, fromNetball , Grand Prix andFootball . She’s presented for Attheraces, covered Horse Racing for Sky Sports, has anchored the 6 o’clock news. She covered many big news stories including the Lockerbie trial. She has recently starred in a TV advert forNokia , presents award ceremonies including F1 and other events. She presented forSony Playstation , presented the F1 Regent Street display in front of 300,000 people and was asked byNigel Mansell andCarl Fogarty to host the launch of their magazine for whom she was the on-track editor and columnist.Lee also has a company looking after some of the top drivers, from GP2 to World Rally.
