- Yuka Azumi
nihongo|Yuka Azumi|安積 柚香|Azumi Yuka is a fictional character from the
manga series "Alice Academy ".Background
Yuka Azumi was once a student in Alice Academy. She was hated by the other students because of her unique Alice that can steal other people's Alices. She is Narumi's senior back when she was still in the Academy. The two of them were very close friends; Narumi had a crush on Yuka, though. Yuka, however, loved her sensei, who had the nullifying Alice that was inherited by Mikan, and had a romantic relationship with him. Yuka was also the senpai of Sakurano and Subaru. The two of them were really close to her, which is why they care so much in protecting Mikan.
Narumi could not understand why Yuka wanted to leave the Academy badly, because Yuka loves children and treasures "Family" dearly. But he suspected that she left the Academy as she believed that her sensei was murdered by someone working in the school. She became a member of the Z Organization and she is referred to as 'That Person'.
In the past, Noda-sensei accidentally went there and saw her carrying a baby. He never saw her face, but the baby was most likely Mikan. Nothing else is known about her, except that she is 29 years old. Mikan encounters Yuka during the Z Arc in the manga but didn't realize that she was her mother.
Many people had assumed that Yuka might have stolen something from the Elementary Division Principal, but Narumi thought that it could be Yuka had inserted something into the Principal, causing him to remain in his child-like form.
Yuka returns to the academy and tells the High School Principal that she's going to take Mikan away. Since Mikan is like her, she doesn't want her daughter to walk the same path as she did.
During her early days in the academy, Yuka often tries to escape in order to search for her parents. She is the only one, among her classmates, that doesn't receive any letters from her family.
As a Mother
Yuka is the mother of
Mikan Sakura . She did not desert Mikan because she disliked her. She left Mikan because she wanted her precious child to have a peaceful life without the complications of being an Alice. In the end, though, Mikan still ended up at Alice Academy after following Hotaru. In the Z Arc, Yuka was shocked when she learned that her daughter was one of the intruders in their hideout. She volunteers to go 'take care of her'. Yuka verified that Mikan had the Nullification Alice and left her with a cure for Hotaru. She also saves Natsume, Ruka, and Tsubasa from being Petrified. She worries about Mikan at the academy, but Narumi promised her he'd definitely protect Mikan.Much later, Yuka is seen in a café with Shiki as he gives two photos of
Luna Koizumi , one appearing as Mikan knows her, and another in her 29-Year-Old form. Yuka is surprised and reveals that Luna has the Soul-Entrapping (sucking) Alice. She seems to realize that her daughter is in trouble and is last seen running towards the academy. It was revealed that it was Yuka's teacher who suggested the name "Mikan", which means oranges, because a character in Yuka's name means citrus.
Yuka and Mikan bear a striking resemblance. They have the same color of hair and their facial features are almost alike. According to Narumi, Mikan is just like Yuka, who doesn't give up so easily.
Alice
Yuka's first entered the academy with Instant Teleportation Alice when she was five years old. Her Stealing Alice was discovered after she entered the academy. Her Alice is a special and rare Alice, but 10 years ago, the Special Ability types was not given a field. Because of her Alice, she has been treated as a thief and always looked down upon. Her Alice can steal other people's Alice and turn them into Alice stones. She also has the ability to place the stolen Alices into another person's body.
A rare and unique Alice, the Stealing-Alice of Yuka has been also inherited by Mikan. However, Mikan does not become fully aware of her second Alice until she uses it to heal Narumi sensei.
