Luna Koizumi

Background

Luna Koizumi is currently one of the main antagonists. She was introduced in chapter 78 of the manga as a new student in Mikan's class, although she was seen at the end of Chapter 77, watching Natsume Hyūga and Mikan Sakura. Luna wasn't pleased with her seating position so she asked for Mikan's seat next to Natsume. Mikan uneasily got up to allow her to sit there, but Natsume grabbed onto her and asked her to stay, but Luna coughed up blood so Natsume allowed her to sit next to him.

When Mikan introduced herself to Luna, Luna reacted violently upon learning Mikan's Alice. She began to reach for Mikan, but was stopped when Hotaru pushed Mikan back and Natsume grabbed her hand. She used the situation her advantage and held hands with Natsume, causing some jealousy and bewilderment from Mikan.

Luna asked Natsume to join her team, the white team, for the Sports festival, causing him to pick between herself and Mikan. Natsume truly wanted to go with Mikan onto the Red Team but realized that Luna was trouble, so he rejected her and went with Luna. As they walked down the hallway, Ruka Nogi secretly followed them and overheard them talking. Natsume demanded Luna to let go of him, telling her how annoying she is. Luna retaliated by slapping Natsume across the face and telling him, "You're pissing me off." She commented on how he had the same crimson eyes as his mother and that, because she was a "kind" person, she would forgive him for his rude actions.

Luna used her Alice on some of Mikan's classmates and made them tell her off and start rumours about her. When the equipment for the festival went flying everywhere Luna pulled Mikan into a shed and attempted to strangle her, laughing in a creepy manner. She told Mikan that she wanted to see Mikan's face as she hurt Mikan and her friends and that she was just like her mother. She hinted to Mikan that her mother was a thief and that she knew Mikan's horrible birth secrets. She told Mikan that if she was good and did not draw attention to herself or speak out, Luna would tell her about her mother and father and would not hurt her friends. Luna left the shed and told the teachers that Mikan had been bullying her and that she caused all of the ruckus involving the flying equipment.

Mikan was taken away by the officers but was spared punishment by the high school principal and the Physical Alice Rep. Luna started even more rumours about Mikan about this, rumours that Natsume believed to a degree. When he questioned Mikan about them she remembered Luna's words and told him it was none of his business and that he was a nuisance. Natsume irritably walked away and set up some things for the next event with Luna.

Later, after the Borrowing race where Natsume, wearing a mask, grabbed Mikan and ran with her as his "Person I Love", Luna dismissed Mikan's suspicions when she told her that Natsume had been watching the race with her the entire time before walking away arm in arm with Natsume. The way Natsume and Luna were acting attracted the attention of their classmates they were said to be dating, causing Mikan's jealousy.

Luna tried to be friends with Hotaru, which Hotaru agreed to so that she could watch Luna more closely and investigate the marks on some of the student's necks. Luna was about to bite Hotaru's neck, thus using her Alice, when Ruka called out to stop her. Ruka and Hotaru left with Hotaru thanking him and telling him about the marks on their classmates' necks and that it was up to them to stop Luna. She also told him to trust no one, not even Natsume.

In one event where the elementary participants of the Red Team were up in the air, Luna took control of one of Mikan's teammates (the who was holding her up in the air with his Alice); she stopped the usage of his Alice and Mikan began to fall. Hotaru noticed that Luna was smirking while Mikan fell. Mikan was rescued by Sakurano just feet above the ground.

It was revealed that Luna is surveillance sent by the elementary school principal to watch over Mikan and to make sure she won't make a disturbance. Also, it became known that Luna is actually 29 years old, Mikan's mother's age, and that she previously went to the academy. How she gained an appearance of an 11-year-old girl is unknown, but it may have something to do with ESP's appearance.

In the last event of the Sports Festival Luna sent one of her followers to attack Mikan and Mikan then realized that Luna was controlling them. Mikan unknowingly used her second Alice, Stealing, and took Luna's Alice out of her victims made followers. They were left confused as to why they were hurting Mikan and Mikan told them, namely a boy wearing glasses, that she forgave them and that it wasn't their fault. She then glared at a very unhappy Luna and launched at her. Luna attempted to bite Mikan's neck when Mikan used her Alice and rendered both of them unconscious. It appears that Luna may have sucked part of Mikan's soul.

Everyone realized Luna's true intentions and turned against her, putting their alliances with Mikan once more, all except Natsume who was isolating himself. Luna was told by ESP that she could not harm Mikan and to only watch her. After many people unintentionally switched bodies, Luna told Hotaru in Mikan's body (she thought it was Mikan) that the Stealing Alice would only bring unhappiness and that Mikan would lose the person that she treasured the most very soon (Later reveal the one she has mentioned as Hotaru).

When Mikan was called into the Elementary Principal's office, Luna and Mikan fought each other, which resulted in Luna's Alice being stolen (by Mikan) and her hair burned (by Natsume).She (at the moment) is last seen making a scary face and demanding Mikan give her her Alice back before Mikan and Natsume run away.

Character

Everyone believed Luna to be a sweet and innocent girl when she entered Mikan's class. However, her true personality is that of cruelty and she is very sadistic. She wants to see Mikan's horrified face when she hurts her friends and claims that she cannot wait for it, even though she claims to be a very kind and forgiving person on many occasions. Luna is under the orders of the Elementary School Principal and she has a higher rank than Persona, as she can give him orders.

Relationships

Mikan Sakura

Luna's relationship with Mikan is not a good one. She seems to completely hate Mikan, although it may be that Luna holds a grudge on Mikan's mother, Yuka Azumi, and is taking it out on her daughter. She told Mikan that she knew the secrets of her birth and would tell if she was a "good girl who didn't draw attention to herself". Luna spread many nasty rumours about Mikan to the students. Currently, she cannot harm Mikan any longer now that the Elementary School Principal knows of Mikan's second Alice. Mikan uses her Stealing Alice against her during the Sports Festival and defeats her, thus earning victory for the red team. After the rumours have been cleared up, the students no longer befriend Luna and keep their distance from her.

Natsume Hyūga

Luna's relationship with Natsume similar to her relationship with Mikan. She threatens Natsume with Mikan's safety and has reminded him that they are on "thin ice". He has tried to push himself and others away from Mikan so Luna will not harm Mikan. However, their classmates discovered Luna's true intentions and now do not talk to Luna. Natsume just isolates himself, but the class is worried about Natsume. And some are a little worried that Luna controlled him when Natsume said bad things about Mikan. Though Mikan says that she trust Natsume and that she'll wait for him, and the class was still doubtful of Natsume. But hearing what Mikan said Luna is disgusted by and glares at Mikan.

Yuka Azumi

Luna's exact relationship with Mikan's mother is yuka and luna was classmates(before), but Luna reacts with hatred and vengeance towards her, so readers have assumed it is not good. Reasons for Luna's hatred for Yuka are still unknown, and it has been implied that Luna also holds a hatred towards Mikan's father as well.

Hotaru Imai

Luna tried to become friends with Hotaru to hurt Mikan. Hotaru accepted to observe Luna and to find out the truth behind the marks on some of their classmates' necks. Luna was about to bite Hotaru's neck when Ruka stopped her. Both Hotaru and Ruka left, Hotaru thanking him and telling him that Luna's Alice would control you if she bit you on the neck. She also told Ruka to watch for those with marks and that only they could stop what was happening.
