Recent years in Libya, as 2007's census with over 13,000 workers from Sri Lanka fact|date=January 2008 and some from other Buddhist countries (about 12,000 Koreans fact|date=January 2008 and over 2,000 Han Chinese peoplefact|date=January 2008) that make up about 0.3% of total population of Libya is Buddhists, thus making Libya the country with the highest proportion of Buddhists in the whole North Africa. But in Libya haven't got any Buddhist pagodas or temples.

* 2/3 in total Buddhists in Libya is Theravada followed by a number of Sinhalese. Remaining 1/3 is the East Asian Buddhism followed by numbers of Koreans and Han Chinese descents.
