Tenchi Kaigen

In the manga and anime Saiyuki, the Tenchi Kaigen Sutras, or 'Heaven and Earth' sutras, are scriptures bequeathed to the earth by Buddha, and were supposedly used in the creation of the world. There are five, and each of them is supposed to be guarded by a priest titled 'Sanzo'. Genjo Sanzo is one of these men. However, the sutras are being stolen for use the the revival experiment in India, where Gyokumen Koushou is attempting to revive the Ox-King Gyumaoh.
