Hellas Jet is a charter airline based in Athens, Greece. It operates services to Greece from destinations in Europe. Its main base is Athens International Airport.cite news | title= Directory: World Airlines | work= Flight International | page= 90 | date= 2007-04-03] Hellas Jet is a licenced scheduled and charter carrier, holding a JAA AOC and a Line Maintenance Certificate under JAA/EASA Part 145, both approved by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority.

History

The airline was established in 2002, initially as a Cyprus Airways subsidiary and the first flight was operated on 24 June 2003 from Athens. At the end of the first year of operation they had completed 3855 flights and carried over 250000 passengers.Fact|date=June 2007 Due to heavy losses, Hellas Jet suspended all scheduled flights from May 10 2005. In January 2006 the airline announced it would refocus on charter operations. In August 2006 Cyprus Airways sold its shares to Air Miles, the trading name of Trans World Aviation. The aim is to resume services later in 2007 using wet leased Airbus A320 aircraft. It is wholly owned by Air Miles and has 199 employees (at March 2007).

Hellas Jet is an IATA Member and has an unblemished safety record. Its operation plans which provide for resumption of scheduled flights in the near future. Fact|date=June 2007

Hellas Jet operates charter flights to/from Heraklion and Rhodes and is planning to relaunch scheduled flights in the near future.
