The Massachusetts Society of CPAs, Inc (MSCPA) is the state's premier professional organization of more than 10,000 certified public accountants and accounting professionals. The Society is your advocate at the State House as well as offering a wide array of legislative, technical and referral services to you, the member.

Continuing Professional Education
The MSCPA strives to provide CPAs with high-quality and cost-effective continuing education. We offer a variety of seminars from accounting, auditing, and taxation to financial planning, technology, management, and personal development. * "SumNews", a bi-monthly print publication, includes relevant and informative articles and perspectives to issues facing the profession.
* MSCPAonline.org is the official Web site for the MSCPA providing members with up-to-the-minute news, technical articles, networking tools, educational seminar descriptions and registration capabilities, and career resources.
* Friday@Five communicates the very latest issues and news electronically in a succinct weekly wrap-up.
* B&I E-ssentials, a monthly e-newsletter, is designed specifically for our members working in business and industry, providing notifications of networking events, educational seminars, employment opportunities, and relevant articles from national sources.
* CPATrack.com is the online component of the Society's student outreach program giving accounting students the latest information about education, exam and certification requirements, as well as internship and job listings, scholarship applications, resources for accounting educators, and a quarterly e-newsletter.
Networking Opportunities
* Committee Participation - With over 25 committees to choose from, participants address the many issues facing the
CPA profession and shape their CPE curriculum by developing InfoShares (seminars on current hot topics). The Committees the Society offers are:* CPE Events - Sharing knowledge, experiences and perspectives is an important part of your education. CPE events align peers with similar focus-offering opportunities to meet DOR and IRS officials, and talk with other CPAs about how they are conducting business, new technology, successful practice niches, changes in billing methods, etc.
* Online Forums - The Society's online forums are "discussion threads" for members with similar questions and interests, including taxation, practice management, corporate management, professional issues, etc.
* Networking Forums - Members have independently formed regional forums and a specialty area forums that are open to the entire membership of which no commitment is required on behalf of the attendees:
1) South Shore Forum;2) Cape Cod & the Islands;3) Route 128 Forum;4) Worcester Breakfast Forum;5) High Technology Forum; and6) Young Professionals
* The Speakers/Writers Bureau - The Society's Speaker/Writers Bureau serves as the face of the profession by offering perspective and technical insight to the media and special interests groups. Members of the bureau promote the image of the
CPA by authoring articles, speaking to groups, and providing interviews for print, radio and television. Public relations is cost-effective and positions the member as an expert in the field.* Volunteer Opportunities - Volunteers share their expertise in a variety of ways as local non-profits recognize the value of a CPA's perspective and technical insight.
