Moron trivia

Moron Trivia is a radio trivia game that appears on Fridays during the NFL Football Season on the Glenn Beck Program. The purpose of Moron Trivia is supposedly to predict the outcome of NFL games. [ [http://www.morontrivia.com/ Moron Trivia ] ]

On the Friday before a Football weekend, Glenn Beck will pick one game and call random convenience stores from the team's home cities. The clerk (a.k.a. “shelf-replenishment engineer”) on the other end is asked extremely simple questions referencing many topics, but mostly current events. Scores are kept based on the participants answers, and the city with the most participants giving correct answers wins.

History

Moron Trivia started when the Glenn Beck Program was still in Tampa Florida when the show was not yet syndicated. At that time, they only played with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the opposing team. The Bucs were doing so well that the accuracy of the game was quite good, although they do admit to cheating on one of the games.

After the show went national it was stepped up to the entire country. Initially it was only the teams that played during Monday Night Football but after a while they simply chose teams on a seemingly random basis.

The first few seasons after syndication the games were played live and sometimes they are still played that way. However, most of the time you will find that the games are pre-recorded and only scored live. This is because much of the time spent during Moron Trivia is simply to try to get someone willing to speak with them.

Moron Trivia Referees

*Jeff Fisher [ [http://www.970wfla.com/pages/local_fisherfiles.html :: 970WFLA.com - Tampa Bay, FL :: News, Traffic and Weather Together On-Demand ] ] : The original referee of Moron Trivia. After Syndication he lasted one year and, we believe, simply ran out of time to continue being the ref. Now he is the commissioner of Moron Trivia, he does promos and occationally calls in from his hot tub to make final decisions and give commentary.
*Dan Andros [ [http://www.glennpedia.com/index.php?title=Dan Dan - Glennpedia, The Glenn Beck Encyclopedia ] ] : The current referee. Sometimes blamed for the losses of year four [ [http://www.morontrivia.com/previous.php Moron Trivia - Previous Games ] ] . He has been known to make judgements in favor of his favorite teams only to cause problems with the game itself. In recent years he has become more impartial. He still, however, is blamed for most losses.

The Rules

*The person who answers the phone has to answer the questions.
*There are four questions, if they don't know the answer, just guess. "It's no big deal."
*They cannot ask for help, they lose that question.
*If they agree to answer questions and then hang up the phone, they forfeit the quarter.
*If a hint is given to one city, the same hint should be given to the other.
*If listeners determine a flag on the field they can call in.
*If there is a tie, we go into sudden death in which a listener calls up, he/she chooses "Foreign or Domestic" and then they call a store. If the person who answers matches the description of the listener's choice, the point is awarded to the appropriate team.
