January 30 ,1892 ) was an Americanacademic and the third president ofOregon State University .Benjamin Lee Arnold grew up in
Mecklenburg County, Virginia . After graduating fromRandolph-Macon College , he joined up with theConfederate States Army , where he was discharged three years later because of a physical problem.
