The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) is the governing body oftennis inGreat Britain , theChannel Islands and theIsle of Man . Its objects are to promote and develop tennis and to advance and safeguard the interests of the sport and the governing body. It was founded onJanuary 26 1888 , and since February 2007 is headquartered at the new National Tennis Centre in Roehampton (South West London) having moved from its previous location at theQueen's Club .The LTA had a turnover of £45.8 million for the year ended 30 September 2005.
