Australian Formula 3

The Kumho Tyres Australian Formula 3 Championship is a fully approved FIA Formula 3 category,and is now the Official Australian Drivers' Championship. Taking over from Australian Formula 2 in 1999, it has grown into the premier Australian Open wheel category.

Winners of the Australian Formula 3 Championship are given the opportunity to test with the Australian A1 team

Note: Official national title status was granted by the Confederation of Australian Motorsport for 2001 onwards, with Gold Star status for the Australian Drivers' Championship following in 2005.
