Leon Hadar

Leon Hadar, a global affairs analyst, journalist and author, is a research fellow with the Cato Institute [http://www.cato.org/people/hadar.html Bio/ Cato Institute] , a contributing editor for the American Conservative and a regular contributor to "Chronicles" and Reason. Dr. Hadar has published numerous analyses and commentaries on U.S. global diplomatic and trade policies, with a special focus on the Middle East and East and South Asia. He is the author of two books on U.S. policy in the Middle East, "Quagmire: America in the Middle East" (Cato Institute, 1992), and "Sandstorm: Policy Failure in the Middle East" (Palgrave Macmillan, 2005).

Dr. Hadar graduated from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and completed his graduate studies at Columbia University, where he earned M.A. degreees from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and the School of International and Public Affairs as well as a certificate from the Middle East Institute. He received his Ph.D. from the School of International Service (SIS) at American University.

A former United Nations correspondent for the Jerusalem Post, Dr. Hadar is currently the Washington bureau chief for the Business Times (Singapore).
