Be'er Sheva North Railway Station ( _he. תחנת הרכבת באר שבע צפון, "Takhanat HaRakevet Be-er Sheva Tzafon") is an Israel Railways station in Beersheba on the main intercity line from Tel Aviv and Nahariya to Beersheba. It is also a terminus on the Beersheba - Dimona spur. The station is located in Haharoshet St. near the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, to which it is linked by a pedestrian bridge.
History
Be'er Sheva North/University Railway Station was opened with one platform on 29 March 1956 (as Be'er Sheva Station). As the only station in Beer Sheva, it served as the gateway to the Negev. The opening of the new station (with its current name) serves as a catalyst for growth in the region.
