Goonellabah is the eastern suburb of Lismore, and is on the Bruxner Highway. It is mainly a residential area. It is populated mainly by indigenous australians, or aboriginals. There are government homes there in which they live.
Goonellabah has many sporting teams which compete in local competitions. These include football, cricket, hockey, touch and tennis.
