Richard of Gravesend (or Richard de Gravesend) was a medieval Bishop of Lincoln.

Life

He was a native of Gravesend in Kent. He was elected to the see of Lincoln on September 30 1258 and consecrated on November 3 1258Powicke "Handbook of British Chronology" p. 235] at Canterbury. He supported Simon de Montfort and was suspended from office and in exile from 1265 to 1267.

He died on December 18 1279 at Stow Park.

He was the uncle of Richard of Gravesend, who was Archdeacon of Northampton.
