Hugh de Wells (or Hugh of Wells, born Hugh Troteman [cite book|last=Dunning|first=Robert|title=A Somerset Miscellany| pages =30|publisher=Somerset Books|location=Tiverton|date=2005|isbn=0861834275] ) was a medieval Bishop of Lincoln.

Life

He was the son of Edward of Wells and brother of Jocelin of Wells, Bishop of Bath. He held prebends in the diocese of Lincoln and diocese of London as well. He was elected to the see of Lincoln about April 14 1209 and consecrated on December 20 1209Powicke "Handbook of British Chronology" p. 235] at Melun. He was in exile in France until he returned to England on July 16 1213.

He died on February 7 1235.
