Since their formation in late 2002, Los Albertos have been creating a frenzy upon the dance floors and grassy fields of Europe with their brass-blaring, high energy blend of ska, punk, funk, dub, and original beats. This six-piece throw in some dynamite horn, guitar and drum action and invariably you end up with a band firing on all cylinders and on top of their game.
Their first album, Los Bop, contained such classics as Cheeky Rascal, Bossman, Mr Chip and Pikey Killed My Goldfish. In Summer 2006 they self-released a new 12-track album Information Overload, with new classics such as Friends, Heal, Leavin’ the Band, Scientist, Resist, and Beer Panic. It’s the sheer energy and fun that binds all this into what is the Los Albertos sound.
Lyrically, they cast a net far and wide, singing about the joys of going to festivals, drinking beer, psychedelic experiences at dental surgeries, celebrating life, calling in sick, too much information, stupid governments, nice men from next door and, of course, love… Five of the band sing, they all write songs, and they all inject a crazy energy into the music. They always put a smile on the faces of those who see and hear them. 2006 has been a very busy year for this hard working band - they recorded and released an album, played over 120 gigs around the country, made a couple of videos, and even bought and renovated a gigging van.
Already they have gained a big and loyal following with gigs at many of the best festivals in the United Kingdom and Europe including Glastonbury, Beautiful Days, Shambahla, Larmer Tree, Spraoi and Lovebox Weekender. And their residency at Brighton’s Joogleberry is the stuff of legend.
The band are currently recording new demos of lots of new material, with a view to recording in Italy in May of this year. As well as that, lots of plans are being forged for tours this year.
Tom Livingstone
Tom Livingstone is no longer with the band, although his spirit and music will live on within it. Tom had spent years nursing his beautiful Fi with cancer until she lost her battle in November 2005. Tom was away with the band a lot during her illness and times when she was well but came to a point when he had to devote his time, energy and love into home life and taking care of basically everything. Tom has been a face of music in Brighton for many years, helping to form and shape many bands like Deep Mamboo and Calavera and sessions with countless others. No doubt you will see him out playing again very soon (we hope) butfor now he's looking after Luke (Fi's son) and helping his world to heal from theloss of such an amazing and much loved woman.

Information Overload
Two teenage boys from Eastbourne, East Sussex decided to create a small music video for Los Albertos after hearing an early release of one of Los Albertos' songs, 'Information Overload' in June 2005. The video was very simple and consisted of Calvin and Kieran sitting in different rooms in Kieran's house on two wooden chairs; dressed up 'ska-like', the two boys lip-synced the entire song with Calvin doing most of the singing. The vibrant colours of wallpaper in the house give the video a cheerful feel. The video was later found by Los Albertos after it was uploaded onto the Internet by Kieran. Los Albertos e-mailed Kieran saying how much they enjoyed the video and sent both him and Calvin copies of their (then) new and (now) most recent album titled 'Information Overload'. The video was also posted on Los Albertos' Myspace page and website.
Beer Panic
The boys decided to do a follow-up video a year later in October 2006. The new video was deemed more professional than the first and received greater success from Los Albertos' fans, although, Calvin and Kieran both liked the original video 'Information Overload' better. 'Beer Panic' was filmed on a digital camera instead of using a camcorder like they did for 'Information Overload'. The dip in quality is slightly noticeable and gives Beer Panic a darker feel. Beer Panic was in fact filmed for the boys' Media Studies final project at their Secondary School, (they were in Year 11). This explains the lack of credits at the end and title at the beginning, both of which featured in the previous 'Information Overload' video. 'Beer Panic' was a lot more complicated then their first video and it told the story of the song, acted out by the pair. The story is basically about a man (Baker) who has run out of beer and has no means of getting any more for the night, (hence 'Beer Panic'). A crazy man (Kirstein) enters and tells of how he knows a secret off-license ('offy' in the song) where the man can get his beer after all of the other pubs and off-licenses have closed. Los Albertos also posted this video on their website to get fans to see it.
Future Videos
Calvin and Kieran are thinking about making a new video to a song off of Los Alebrtos' next album, released in May 2008 (TBD).
