- Udyotakara
Udyotakara (c. 6th century CE) was a philosopher of the
Nyaya school of Indian philosophy. "Subandhu"’s IAST |"Vāsavadattā" mentioned him as the rescuer of the "Nyaya". Hisgotra was "Bharadvaja" and he belonged to the "Pashupata" sect. His philosophical treatise IAST |"Nyāyavārttika" is a defence ofVatsyayana against the criticisms made byDignaga [Radhakrishnan, S.
