Isaac Pierson (
August 15 ,1770 -September 22 ,1833 ) represented ushr|New Jersey|AL in theUnited States House of Representatives from 1827 to 1831.Pierson was born on
August 15 ,1770 inOrange, New Jersey . He attended private schools, and graduated from Princeton College in 1789. He studied medicine, graduated from theColumbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons inNew York City , and commenced practice in Orange. He was elected assessor of Orange onApril 13 ,1807 , and served one year, and served as sheriff of Essex County from 1807-1809. He was president of the Medical Society of New Jersey in 1827.Pierson was elected as an Adams candidate to the Twentieth Congress and reelected as an Anti-Jacksonian to the Twenty-first Congress, serving in office from
March 4 ,1827 -March 3 ,1831 , but was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1830 to the Twenty-second Congress.He died in Orange on
September 22 ,1833 . Interment in Old Burying Ground; reinterment in Rosedale Cemetery in Orange in 1840.External links
