Connie (Comic Strip)

Connie (Comic Strip)

Connie, was an US newspaper adventure comic strip created by the cartoonist Frank Godwin. The strip ran from 1927 to 1944 for the Ledger Syndicate. Connie debuted as a Sunday page on November 13, 1927. Frank Godwin drew Connie in an art nouveau style which is considered to be a very innovative style of the time.

Connie Kurridge (her surname was deliberately made sound like 'courage') is a very pretty women. The villains are fooled by her beauty and underestimated her agility and resourcefulness. Connie is capable of spectacular feats such as flying great distances cross-country in an unfamiliar plane, at night, with neither navigational equipment nor lights; or performing stunt flights in a plane she knew had recently been sabotaged.
