Central Huijin Investment Company Limited (zh-s|s=中央汇金投资有限责任公司 Hanyu Pinyin: ZhōngYāng HuìJīn TóuZī YǒuXiàn ZéRèn Gōng Sī) established in 2003 is the investment company owned by the government of the People's Republic of China. It is the investment arm of the People's Bank of China and is administrated by the Ministry of Finance. The purpose of Central Huijin is to create an organizational structure by which the PRC government can operate as a shareholder for the large "big four" state owned banks, therefore to improve corporate governance and initiate reforms of the banking sector.
