Post-Graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM) is a unique two-year programme leading to a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Policy and Management. The first of its kind in
India , it is designed to equip mid-career civil servants with the concepts, skills, and techniques in formulating public policy and strategic management of public systems. The first year of the programme is fully residential with a term of 7 weeks atMaxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs ,Syracuse University ,USA . During the second year participants return to their work locations and continue to work on adissertation in a topic of their choice.PGPPM offers participants global exposure and experience by the synergetic combination of the expertise at
IIM Bangalore and the Maxwell School.The programme is sponsored by the

PGPPM aims to enhance the competence of mid-career Civil Servants by:
*Broadening awareness of the latest trends in policy approaches
*Deepening technical and analytical skills for public policy applications
*Developing leadership skills for public policy
*Creating a better understanding of the forces shaping the domestic and international environment for public policy
*Providing opportunity for specialisation in a chosen public policy field
*Providing opportunities to learn from alternative systems of public management based on comparative study of other countries
Academic Design
The PGPPM curriculum comprises course work and a dissertation. The course work is spread over 6 terms during the first year. Core courses are supplemented by several electives, which will be offered in the fourth and fifth term. On successful completion of the courses, students work on a dissertation during the sixth term and in the second year.

Eligibility Criteria
The programme is open to officers of All India Services, Central Services (organized and non-organized, technical and non-technical), subject to the eligibility conditions mentioned in the programme brochure. Normally the officers should be in the service bracket of 7-20 years with age not exceeding 50 years. Applications for the course are generally invited by DoPT in the month of Sep-Oct.
