Keezhoor

Keezhoor (kee-zh-oor)is a small but vibrant village located in the Kottayam District, in the southern state of Kerala in India. Its in Mulakkulam Panchayat and Vaikom Thaluk. Its located on the main road connecting the larger towns of Peruva and Thalayolaparambu. Its located around 2 1/2 miles east of Thalayaolaparambu and 1 1/2 miles west of Peruva.

The initial settlers probably arrived in keezhoor in the early to mid 1800s. Agriculture has been the major economic activity for the people of keezhoor . In the past three decades immigration to the Persian Gulf , US and lately to UK of medical and other professionals has changed the face of keezhoor significantly. You might believe in Thomas Friedman,s statement"the world is flat" after a visit to Keezhoor. Christians of all denominations and Hindus have always lived in harmony in Keezhoor .
