Joel Ekstrand (born 4 February, 1989) is a football player at Helsingborgs IF. He is a central defender who can also play on the right back.

He made an unexpected first team debut for Helsingborgs IF in the first leg of the UEFA Cup Round of 32 against PSV Eindhoven at Philips Stadium, thus sliding in front of rivals Samir Beloufa and Leandro Castan in the competition for the open spot next to Oskar Rönningberg in the HIF central defense following Andreas Jakobssons retirement. Following an, after circumstances, excellent debut he retained his spot in the starting eleven for the second leg, where he once again had a good match until he had to go off at half time following a light injury.
