The William Sidney Mount House is a wood sided and wood shingled house built in 1725 located in Stony Brook on Long Island, New York. The American genre painter William Sidney Mount, 1807-1868, lived there and had his studio in the 3rd floor attic, which benefited from unusual skylights through the roof. The house became a National Historic Landmark in 1965.citation|title=PDFlink| [http://pdfhost.focus.nps.gov/docs/NHLS/Text/66000575.pdf National Register of Historic Places Inventory-Nomination: The William Sydney Mount House] |283 KB|author=Richard Greenwood |date=June 25, 1975|publisher=National Park Service and PDFlink| [http://pdfhost.focus.nps.gov/docs/NHLS/Photos/66000575.pdf Accompanying 3 photos in 1975 of the house and outbuildings, and a W.S.
