Kanimozhi was born in 1968 in Chennai. She is a politician. Kanimozhi is the daughter of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi and Rajathi Ammal. She prefers to be called Kanimozhi. Personal life

Kanimozhi was a student of Presentation Convent, Church Park in Chennai and later did her Masters in Economics in Ethiraj College for Women from Madras University.She married Athiban Bose a Sivakasi based Businessman in 1989 after divorce she married G. Aravindan a Singapore based Tamil literary figure through mutual love of Tamil literature on August 21, 1997. Career

Kanimozhi was a sub editor for The Hindu, and editor in charge of Kungumam, a Tamil weekly magazine. She was also Columnist and conducted programmes in Sun TV and Vijay TV. She has also a features editor for a Singapore based Tamil newspaper called Dhina Murasu. She has also written Tamil poetry and translated Tamil poetry into English of other poets. She became a Rajya Sabha member in 2007. She appears in the 2008 film, "Vaazhthukal" starring Madhavan.
