trauma center and a place renowned for its care of women and children, delivering over 3,000 babies each year. In March 2008, RUMC announced it would be closing several clinics due to a fiscal crisis. As RUMC struggles to chart its financial course in the face of $26 million in loans it must soon pay back in full, lawmakers are hoping the state Legislature will provide relief by passing a bill to free up a fund for non-profit agencies.
