Tariq Pervez

Tariq Pervez, a Pakistani Policeman, is currently the director-general of Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency. Formally, he was the Lt. General of the Pakistani army before he was “forcibly retired” by Masharruf Pervaz. The Lt. General of Pakistan is the equivalence of a three-star general.cite news

He completed his undergraduate and post-graduate studies from [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Government_College_University Government College University] . Later he completed his MSc in Criminology from [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardiff_university Cardiff University] and returned to Pakistan to serve the country.

During his tenure as head of CID Punjab he played a major role in eliminating the sectarian network in Punjab in 1990's.

In 2005, he was awarded [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sitara-i-Imtiaz Sitara-i-Imtiaz] by the Government of Pakistan for his efforts against counter-terrorism.

On August 20 2007 Pervez was threatened with jail over the disappearance of 1 Pakistani man, Hafiz Abdul Basit, who was released later.
