Magda Burlix

Magda Burlix is a character from Paul Stuart and Chris Riddell's books The Edge Chronicles.

History

Magda Burlix was chosen, along with Rook Barkwater and Stob Lummus to be a Librarian knight in "The Last of the Sky Pirates". She takes care of Rook along the way, apparently aware he hasn't been trained for a Librarian Knight. It is implied over the course of the book as well as the other two in the Rook Barkwater Saga that she holds feelings for Rook (however in Vox and Freeglader it is shown she might have feelings for Xanth as well, although this may be gratitude for his saving her life)

In "Vox", she is caught by the Guardians of Night (bitter enemies of the Librarians) while looking for a lost Rook, who she was trying to prove was not dead. Xanth Filatine, who she made friends with in the previous book, tries to rescue her, even though he knew that, if caught by Orbix Xaxis, the High Guardian of Night, he would be killed, and the Librarians would shun and despise of him anyway. Because of this, she is eternally grateful to him.

In "Freeglader", Magda leaves Rook and Xanth to investigate the Eastern Roost before the battle with the Shrykes. Unfortunately, she is shot down and labelled "Killed in Action." However, she reappears at the Freeglades alive (and very battered and bruised) in the nick of time to give a testimony that changes the verdict of Xanth's Reckoning. She also leaves to fight the Goblin Nations army from the air, but is one of only few to survive. She is last seen going to visit Tweezel, an ancient spindlebug, with Xanth.
