"Ligustrum microcarpum" is a species of "Ligustrum" (privet), endemic to Taiwan, where it is confined to high altitudes of over 2,400 m.Pan, F.J. (1998). Under the name "L. sinense", Taiwanese plants are described by the "Flora of Taiwan" as a shrub or small tree growing to 7 m tall. The leaves are 3.5–8 cm long and 1.5–3 cm broad, thin textured, with an obtuse apex and an entire margin.
