USS Tolita (AKS-8)

USS Tolita (AKS-8) was an "Acubens"-class general stores issue ship commissioned by the U.S. Navy for service in World War II. She was responsible for delivering and disbursing goods and equipment to locations in the war zone.

Tolita was laid down, 23 April 1943, as a Maritime Commission type (EC2-S-C1) hull under a Maritime Commission contract at Oregon Shipbuilding Corp., Portland, Oregon.She was launched, 12 May 1943 and converted to a general stores issue ship. She was commissioned "USS Tolita" (AKS-8) (date unknown).
