Cosmic Glow is the 41st episode [http://www.mahq.net/animation/gundam/series/msgep41.htm] of "Mobile Suit Gundam".

Plot summary

Gihren sees the departing "Great Degwin" part with his father Degwin aboard. He thinks his father is too old to do anything. He receives word that the Solar Ray will be ready once the final tests are completed.

On the "Gwajin", Kycilia reveals Char that she knew Char is Casval Rem Deikun. She asks him why he has stopped his quest for vengeance against her family. Char tells her he feels something strange; Kycilia thinks it might be about Lalah. He believes she's a Newtype; Kycilia tells him he can resume his plans for revenge when the war is over.

Aboard "White Base" Bright and the crew discuss the probability of the existence of Newtypes. Amuro declares he's not special just because he's a Newtype. He wonders if the whole crew are Newtypes; Bright thinks that might be possible.

On the "Zanzibar", Char and Lalah are preparing to launch. Char advises Lalah that she should focus on attacking the Gundam, even willing to follow her orders. She asks him to wear a normal suit, and Char gives her a kiss. The Elmeth is launched along with several Rick Doms. They intercept the 13th Autonomous Corps.

Amuro, Kai, Sayla and Hayato take off from "White Base" along with several GMs and Balls from allied ships. Kai and Sayla destroy several Rick Doms. Amuro senses the Elmeth and approaches it. The "Gwajin" attacks the Federation fleet; Char lends support with the "Zanzibar". Amuro is attacked by the Elmeth's mind-controlled bits. He concentrates hard and is able to predict their movements destroying all of them.

Lalah closes in and attacks with twin mega-particle cannons, and destroys the Gundam's beam rifle. Communicating through telepathy, he asks her why she fights. She tells Amuro she has to fight him because he hurt Char. Lalah asks why she had to meet him until now. She asks Amuro what is he fighting for, since he doesn't have a family or home to protect. Amuro asks her what does that have to do with everything.

He tells her he doesn't need a reason to fight; she tells him she fights to protect the people she loves. She asks why they met. Both agree it is fate. Lalah says that if it is, then fate is cruel. Amuro and Lalah draw closer together and see strange images.

Kai and Sayla fight Rick Doms and Char launches in his Gelgoog. Char interrupts Amuro and Lalah's communication telling Lalah not to listen to Amuro. Sayla senses Char and tells him to leave, Amuro tells her it's too dangerous for her. Amuro destroys the Gelgoog's beam rifle and fight with beam sabers. Sayla flies too close to the fight and her G-Fighter is accidentally sliced by Char's saber. Sayla attacks Lalah and suffers some damage. She again flies close to Char and Amuro. Char realizes it's her sister flying the enemy fighter before attacking. With his guard down, Amuro slices off the Gelgoog's left arm (the one holding the saber).

Just before finishing off Char with the beam saber, Lalah in her Elmeth gets in the way. Amuro's reaction is too late as the beam saber slices straight into the Eleth's cockpit. Somewhere between life and death, Lalah calls out to Amuro, asking him whether he believes people constantly change. Amuro believes that one day people will control time and space. Lalah exclaims she can see time and dissolves into images of her and Amuro running together on an island in the middle of space.

The Gundam slowly drifts away from the Elmeth. It explodes and Amuro cries over for what he's just done. Char is nearby, and screams out in rage and sorrow. "White Base" destroys one Musai and the "Zanzibar". Char retreats to the "Gwajin" and reports Lalah's death to Kycilia. Kycilia receives a message from Gihren that he will fire the Solar Ray to the approaching Federation Fleet heading towards A Baoa Qu.

General Revil is going over through the last order of battle details with his senior commanders when he's informed the "Great Degwin" has arrived with Degwin himself asking for peace. Close by, the Solar Ray has final adjustments. Gihren calculates the blast will kill about one third of the Federation fleet. The Solar Ray fires and Amuro feels the thousands of people perishing at the same time.
