KRDO-FM (105.5 FM) is a News/Talk radio station simulcast on KRDO 1240 and based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The format complements KRDO-TV's news broadcasts. It is owned by Optima Communcations and operated by the News-Press & Gazette Company of St. Joseph, Missouri under a lease marketing agreement.

Throughout the day, KRDO carries syndicated talk show hosts Dave Ramsey and Dr. Laura Schlessinger, news commentator Paul Harvey, and Sporting News Radio.

History

105.5 signed on in the early 1970s as KWYD-FM. For the first few years KWYD broadcast a country music format before flipping to a Christian radio format in 1975 which was a combination of brokered teaching and talk programming mixed in with music, news and information. In 1989 KWYD was sold to Optima Communications which flipped the station to a NAC/Smooth Jazz format as KBZE, using the on-air moniker "The Breeze."

Two years later, the call letters and format were changed again. It became a country station with the call KHII, using the on-air handle "K-High." Optima Communications entered into a time brokerage agreement with Pikes Peak Broadcasting Company in 1993, and although it switched programing feeds it remained a country music format station until the fall of 1996 when Pikes Peak Broadcasting Company flipped the station back to a smooth jazz format. This time it was called Sax 105.5 and adopted the KSKX call letters. The station remained smooth jazz until News Press & Gazette launched its News/Talk Radio format in August 2006.KRDO (1240 AM) is a News/Talk radio station simulcasted KRDO-FM 105.5 and based in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
