Bureau of International Organization Affairs

The Bureau of International Organization Affairs (IO) is a bureau in the United States Department of State that creates and executes U.S. policy in the United Nations and other international organizations. As of 2005, it is headed by Assistant Secretary Kristen Silverberg.
