Kattalagar Koil is a temple located in southern hills ("meru malai") of
Tamil Nadu ,India , about 17 km fromSrivilliputhur (birthplace ofAndal ).Behind the temple, two huge mountains are visible. One of them resembles the face of
Perumal (LordVishnu ) and other one resembles a frog.It has a famous spring which flows continuously, year-round.
Kattalagar is Kallalagar of madurai came to Srivilliputhur to marry Sri Andal. But before his arrival, SriAndal got married to Sri RENGA MANNAR and Kattalagar stayed there in the forest.
We have to walk around 6 KM to reach the temple. Wild animals can be spotted rarely but they won't harm devotees.
Temple is kept open every Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM to 4 PM. Devotees wishing to visit the temple on other day should contact the Bhattar. The phone number is 04563261659
