plant in theDipterocarpaceae family. The name "grossivenia" is derived fromLatin ("grossus" = an unripe fig and "venius" = veined) and refers to the purple lateral veins of theleaf blade. "A. grossivenia" is a tall emergent tree, up to 60 m, found inmixed dipterocarp forest and itsecotone tokerangas forests (Ashton 2004). It is endemic toBorneo . It occurs in at least two protected areas (Bako National Park andLambir National Park ), elsewhere it is endangered due to habitat loss.ource
