It was also the name of the group's first performance piece which was released as aspoken word CD in 1996.History

The group's initial, self-titled "working" occurred in 1994. It was released on CD in 1996 and 2000. It dealt partially with an exploration around
London . The first track on the album, "The Hair Of The Snake That Bit Me", was also released on "Hexentexts", the Creation Books Sampler CD, for which Alan Moore drew the cover.The Birth Caul
This was performed at the Victorian magistrate's court in Newcastle Upon Tyne, on November 18, 1995, and was later turned into a comic by
Eddie Campbell .The Highbury Working
This was performed in 1997 at The Garage in Highbury. This dealt with an exploration of the area of
Highbury , in London. The CD was designed byJohn Coulthart and released in 2000. During his study of the area, Moore looks at the building of the football stadium, the sewage systems, constructing the underground, Coleridge,Aleister Crowley ,Joe Meek , The Arsenal team, and local gangsters.nakes and Ladders
Performed in 1999 at
Red Lion Square at a meeting of theHermetic Order of the Golden Dawn . It explored the local area and its magical associations. It was later turned into a comic by Eddie Campbell.Angel Passage
