Shanghai Metro/Line_6

"'Shanghai Metro, Line 6 - "Pudong Light Railway"

Line 6 is a rapid transit line in Shanghai, China. The entire line is located in Pudong, and is operated by the Shanghai Modern Rail Transit Co. Ltd. A complete trip between the two end terminals, Gangcheng Road and Lingyan Road (South) takes approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Overview

Line 6 opened on December 29, 2007. It will initially run with 4 trains. The trains are manufactured by Shanghai Electric and Alstom. Subject to massive complaints due to its long waits, the municipal government pledged to add new trains and extend later times starting June 2008.

Interchanges

*Century Avenue is an interchange between Line 2, Line 4 and Line 6.
*Lancun Road is an interchange between Line 4 and Line 6.

Future

*Jiyang Road, the last one station of Line 6 will open after the end of construction, no date given now.
