- Tenryū class cruiser
The two "Tatsuta" was completed at the
Sasebo Naval Arsenal on31 March 1919 . Prior to World War II, it participated in theSiberian Intervention , and supported the landings of Japanese troops along the China coast. During thePacific War , it participated in theBattle of Wake Island and the invasions of theSolomon Islands ,New Guinea and theBattle of Savo Island and theNaval Battle of Guadalcanal . It was sunk by USS|Sand Lance|SS-381|6, convert|40|nmi|km|0 NNE ofHachijōjima on13 March 1944 . "Tatsuta" was struck from the Navy List on10 May 1944 .References
